Getting Involved

One of the pleasures of being part of a small and relatively new parish is that there are always opportunities to get involved! And at The Church of the Epiphany, we take the idea of “the ministry of all believers” very seriously. There are very few ministries that can be done only by ordained persons; for the rest, we welcome your participation.
Some of these are one-time activities and some are longer term commitments. We encourage you to “taste and see” if any of these are something you might like to try. The clergy, vestry members or ushers can point you to the key folks who are involved in these ministries for further guidance.

Here are just a few:

Worship - There are a number of ways a person can serve during the Worship Service, as an acolyte, a Lay Eucharistic Minister, usher, reader, etc.

Music - Do you like to sing or play a musical instrument?  Epiphany has two choirs.  The Chancel Choir sings during most of the Sunday services. The Handbell Choir performs on the average of once a month during the Sunday service.  They are always looking for new members and new instruments to incorporate into the service.

Education - If you like to work with children you can help with our Christian Education program, either as a teacher or as a helper.

Outreach - At Epiphany you can help to make lunches for area homeless shelters, work in a neighborhood food pantry or help support our Sudanese community for starters.

Handyman - All churches need people who are handy with their hands and with tools.  There is always something that needs improvement and/or fixing.
